My Yoke is Easy Mt 11:25-30
At that time Jesus exclaimed: "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."
My yoke is easy. When under the guide of the Lord, the load of work to do God's will seems light. It is a simple way to work without stubborn resistance or self determined directions. The way to understand and know God is through the Son. The way of the Son is humility. Humility is an open heart with a will ready to follow the will and path of God.
When a plow is being pulled by a yoked animal, the best path is straight. This is easiest and the most productive. The will of the animal gives way to follow the guide of the yoke. The yoke is made individually for each animal. Following the yoke of the commandments and the Word of God make the way straight.
When I am in doubt, I look to what the will of God is in the situation and to find the way of true love in the path that I need to choose. As I begin the day, I pray for divine guidance in all that I do today. May I show the love of God to all and do the greatest good in all my acts of this new day. I especially pray that I may serve those who see me for medical reasons today that I might be a true instrument of God in serving their needs today.
