Lk 7:18b-23 At that time, John summoned two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?” When the men came to the Lord, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to you to ask,‘Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?’” At that time Jesus cured many of their diseases, sufferings, and evil spirits; he also granted sight to many who were blind. And Jesus said to them in reply,“Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good news proclaimed to them. And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.”
John's answer from Jesus does not come in words so much but the acts of healing that the messengers see the blind see the deaf hear, the lame walk, lepers clean, the dead raise. 'Blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.' Jesus asks very little of the followers only that they not take offense at him. I have a feeling in reading this passage that the two that are sent by John to Jesus end up becoming apostles. There is not a clear passage to state as such. It is more of an intuitive sense from the Gospel story.
Healing is a large portion of ministry. Healing and proclaiming the Good news. People do not always need to believe in order to be healed but belief can heal. This morning in prayer I will ask Jesus for healing and the vision to see where I may do God's will this day.
