Dec 27 Feast of John the Evangelist and Apostle
1 Jn 1:1-4 Beloved: What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands concerns the Word of life(for the life was made visible; we have seen it and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was made visible to us(what we have seen and heard we proclaim now to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; for our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
We are writing this so that our joy may be complete.
Through faith in Jesus and God the Father comes a joy. The life of Christ made our God visible. The fellowship and love is always visible to the open eyes and heart.
I am writing this lectio on a laptop in the terminal of the Tampa airport. It seems so quiet for a public place, 545 in the morning. I am most grateful for the fellowship of those who are disciples of Christ. It has been a while since I have been in a local parish. I often think of the kindness of those in my former parishes and have lifetime friendships with some of them. They are an important part of the faith of God made visible in the Word, the Son, Jesus.
