Truth Mt 5:33-37

Jesus said to his disciples: "You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, Do not take a false oath, but make good to the Lord all that you vow. But I say to you, do not swear at all; not by heaven, for it is God's throne; nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Do not swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black. Let your ‘Yes' mean ‘Yes,' and your ‘No' mean ‘No.' Anything more is from the Evil One."

There is a saying "Mean what you say and say what you mean."
It is a temptation to take a path that turns away from the truth.
Sometimes the simple honest approach to a situation appears to be not enough or it seems just too difficult or impossible to face.

Sometimes telling people "I just don't know what to do right now, this is a complicated situation." or " I need some more time to think this over, I don't seem to be coming up with a good solution to this yet" is far better than in haste giving an answer that is not on the right track or an excuse that does nothing to further the situation.

I have found that everyone that I have ever encounter of all sorts of ages, intellects and experiences has a definite ability to sense and identify if I am being truthful or not. There are I am sure a whole set of visual, auditory and verbal cues and I believe a part of this is also the Holy Spirit.
