Lk 11:27-28
While Jesus was speaking,a woman from the crowd called out and said to him,“Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.” He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”
The Christian life is alive in the actions that show that the disciples have indeed heard the word of God and lived it themselves. As the saying goes "talk is cheap" and "actions speak louder than words." It is one thing to say a spiritual or religious belief and another to actually live it.

It is truly a challenge and a joy to live the life of a monastic religious. There is a daily call to conversion. Conversion is a personal turning around of individual body, mind and spirit to listen to the the word of God in order to be able to live it. The process is continuous and never ends. No one ever "has it made." No one is so holy that they do not need to do this daily.

We begin every day as humble beginners starting all over again to turn to the Lord for everything. Without God, I am nothing. The Lord is my light and my salvation. I pray this morning for the strength and wisdom to live a life that is open to the words and will of God in all ways.
